Rebecca Spang is the author of Invention of the Restaurant: Paris and Modern Gastronomic Culture (Harvard, 2000) and Stuff and Money in the Time of the French Revolution (Harvard, 2015), both of which were awarded the Gottschalk Prize for best book from the American Society for Eighteenth-Century Studies. She is spending this year as a Visiting Fellow at the International Center for Finance, Yale SOM.
