Jobs & Java

Event date:
June 4, 2021 - 4:00pm
Seminar Series:
Professional Development
History Department

Topic: US Postdoctoral Fellowships

We will discuss applying to US postdoctoral fellowships, with special focus on Societies of Fellows. We are delighted to welcome Melissa Reynolds, the Perkins-Cotsen Postdoctoral Fellow in Princeton’s Society of Fellows (2019-22 Cohort), who will share insights from her own successful applications for both the SoF and a ACLS/Mellon Dissertation Completion Fellowship.

“Jobs & Java”—an informal skills workshop and support group for graduate students and postdocs in historical fields. Wherever possible we will discuss strategies for approaching the academic and related job markets, using “live” jobs and real application materials, and sharing experiences good and bad.

To get the most out of the sessions, feel free to send Prof. Rampling a copy of your application materials in advance. (However, bringing materials to sessions is optional – and they will never be circulated!)

For details, contact Dr. Jennifer M. Rampling.
