Julian Zelizer Named Distinguished Senior Fellow at the New-York Historical Society
Professor Julian E. Zelizer has been named the distinguished senior fellow at the New-York Historical Society, one of New York City’s oldest museums and an epicenter of U.S. history in the city and country.
Zelizer is the Malcolm Stevenson Forbes, Class of 1941 Professor of History and Public Affairs at Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs. He will spend his one-year sabbatical as a fellow at the Society, working on a new book about the life of Rabbi Abraham Joshua Heschel. It will be published by Yale University Press in its Jewish Lives series.
Zelizer is known as being one of the pioneers in the revival of American political history. He is a CNN political analyst and columnist for The Atlantic. He is the author of several books including, most recently, “The Fierce Urgency of Now: Lyndon Johnson, Congress, and the Battle for the Great Society,” which recently was awarded the DB Hardeman Prize for the Best Book on Congress.
