Lucas Ramos '19 Awarded Rome Prize from the American Academy in Rome

Lucas Ramos, who graduated from Princeton with a degree in History in 2019, was named a 2024-2025 recipient of the Rome Prize from the American Academy in Rome in Modern Italian Studies. The fellowships are awarded annually and support research in the arts and humanities. Thirty-one fellowships were awarded this year from a record number of applications, 1,106.

He is currently working towards his Ph.D. at Columbia University and will use the fellowship to work on his project, "Queer, Catholic, Communist: Forging a Sexual Revolution in the Italian Republic, 1958–1989."
