Natalie Zemon Davis, Henry Charles Lea Professor of History, Emerita, passed away at the age of 94 in Toronto. She was at Princeton for eighteen years, from 1978 until she retired in 1996.
In April 2019, the Shelby Cullom Davis Center for Historical Studies and the Institute for Advanced Study jointly held a 90th birthday celebration for Zemon Davis. The papers delivered at this celebration provide a sense of her vitality and generosity.
For three days, the University flag at East Pyne was at half-staff in her honor.
