Oualdi Awarded European Research Council Consolidator Grant

Assistant Professor of Near Eastern Studies and History M'hamed Oualdi has been awarded a European Research Council consolidator grant for 5 years (2019-2023) for his research project about slave testimonies in North Africa during the abolition era (1810s-1920s). ERC Consolidator grants are awarded to "researchers of any nationality with 7-12 years of experience since completion of PhD ..., a scientific track record showing great promise and an excellent research proposal" and "are designed to support researchers ... at the stage of consolidating their own research team or programme."
