On Sunday, November 22, 2015 at its 49th Annual Meeting in Denver, the Middle East Studies Association recognized the very best in scholarship, mentoring, service, and defenders of academic freedom. Among the recipients was Christian Casey Sahner, who was awarded the Malcolm H. Kerr Dissertation Award in the Humanities for his dissertation Christian Martyrs and the Making of an Islamic Society in the Post-Conquest Period. Christian received his Ph.D. from Princeton in 2015.
