The Association of Asian Studies awarded the Joseph Levenson Prize to The King's Road: Diplomacy and the Remaking of the Silk Road (Princeton University Press) by Xin Wen, Associate Professor of East Asian Studies and History. The book proposes a new interpretation of the history of the Silk Road as a diplomatic, rather than commercial, network.

The award recognizes the best English-language book on China, pre-1900.
