Yaacob Dweck Named Old Dominion Research Professor for 2020-21

The Humanities Council will welcome four Princeton faculty from the humanities and humanistically-oriented social sciences as Old Dominion Research Professors for the 2020-2021 academic year.
 
They are Yaacob Dweck (History), Elizabeth Harman (Philosophy; UCHV), Melissa Lane (Politics; UCHV), and Susan J. Wolfson (English). During their time at the Council, they will pursue research and contribute to the Council’s programs and events and engage colleagues and students from across the University in sustained discussions about their work. They will also serve as Faculty Fellows in the Society of Fellows in the Liberal Arts.

Dweck, a Professor of History and the Program in Judaic Studies, will focus on his research project "Rabbinic Reactionaries in the Sephardic Diaspora: Notes on a Social Type."
