Bio/Description
I study 20th-century American political and military history with a focus on the interplay between society and the military. I am intrigued by the question of how the US prepares for and prosecutes conflict, how this has evolved over the 20th century, and what values drive these decisions.
I graduated with highest honors from the University of California Berkeley in 2008 after writing a thesis that examined Berkeley’s ROTC program during the Vietnam War. I have served the last eight years on active duty as an infantry officer in the US Army.
