Kathryn works in twentieth-century U.S. history, focusing on politics and the history of journalism. She holds a B.A. in history from Stanford University (2007) and a masters from the Columbia Journalism School (2009). In 2011, PublicAffairs Books published her first book, The Whole Damn Deal: Robert Strauss and the Art of Politics, a political biography of the Democratic power broker.
